About Us

OUR HISTORY:
Cass and Chris Hirsh, opened Scully’s Tavern twenty-eight years ago with the intent of doing something different. Both of us have lived in Miami most of our lives. Cass being born a third generation Key West Conch and Chris being an avid fan of the Everglades and air-boating. Both love the history of South Florida and this shows with the decor of Scully’s. The walls are lined with old Florida pictures and authentic aerial plat maps of the early Miami area.

OUR GOAL:
When we opened in March of 1989 our goal was to offer great food and service in a friendly atmosphere. We feel we have achieved our goal. So come by and sit back and enjoy. — Cass and Chris.

OUR MENU:
While Scully’s is very much your neighborhood type tavern where everyone really does “know your name”, the menu is certainly not run of the mill bar food.

One of our patrons’ favorites includes our Encrusted Dolphin Sandwich, which is a fresh filet of dolphin encrusted with crushed potato chips and deep dried. Definitely awesome. Our escargot cooked in a garlic butter sauce and served in mushroom caps topped with melted provolone, and the scampi wings in garlic butter proved to be favorites of Guy Fieri’s when Scully’s was featured on his show “Dinners, Drive-Ins and Dives” on the Food Network. Guy was surprised and pleased to find such gourmet food prepared by a classically trained chef, Chris, in a local Florida bar. Since being featured on this show, Chris and some of his air-boating buddies have had the privilege of taking Guy Fieri, his wife Lori and his road crew on an air-boat excursion out to their camp in the Everglades on two occasions when they have been in town for the South Beach Food and Wine Show. This group of avid air- boaters are always happy to share the beauty of the Everglades with out of towners and of course these excursions always end in Chris cooking them something special when they arrive at the camp. Last year it was frog legs. Needless to say they were all impressed and ready to do it all again next year!

Fried Calamari dipped in scampi butter with parmesan cheese, scampi chicken wings and our Scully’s Nachos, made with freshly made tortilla chips and piled high with home made chili, melted cheese , lettuce, salsa, scallions and jalapenos and topped with sour cream,  just more of the delicious items on our regular menu.
